The Manufacturing Excellence Forum is a Not-For-Profit entity that was conceived by the Sunshine Coast Council, is supported by the Entrepreneurs Programme, and delivered by Sunshine Coast locals that are passionate about the region’s future.
We believe that manufacturing is a key to sustainable prosperity and are committed to developing a globally significant manufacturing cluster on the Sunshine Coast.

Operating a manufacturing business in Australia has been challenging for decades.
The combination of high labour costs, a strong currency, and a national focus on a services-based economy have been persistent and significant headwinds.
If you’ve survived in these conditions, then you’ve found ways to overcome these headwinds and deliver unique value to your market sustainably.

With recent globally significant events, these headwinds have lessened and our opportunity to engage a global market has increased.
Support for manufacturers from government and education institutions has not been stronger in the last 30 years, and our currency is at a level that makes exporting attractive.

WHAT WE’RE DOING ABOUT IT
With the launch of the Manufacturing Excellence Forum, the Sunshine Coast will have a dedicated entity that is tasked with enabling local manufacturers to make the most of the current environment.
The Manufacturing Excellence Forum’s job is to support the growth of the local manufacturing community by providing a centralised channel for support, and by reducing the barriers to accessing the resources and information that are the key drivers of growth.
